Please take the time to read through the following updates to familiarise yourself before your next visit.
Due to recent government updates  introducing the tier system, the bookings we can accept have changed. As Norwich is in Tier 2 we can allow singles/sides in badminton, squash and table tennis when between different household. Booking with one household or bubble can play as normal. Under 18 activities can continue with social distancing in place.  If you would like an clarification on this please call on 01603 568823 or email us on wensumsports@yahoo.co.ukWe appreciate your patience and understanding with these policies, we are doing everything we can to ensure we continue to operate in the safest way possible.

On arrival everyone must wait at reception or outside, if necessary, maintaining social distance until you have registered your attendance with a staff member. You will be required to register our QR code with the NHS test and trace app or complete our test and trace google form before passing the gate at reception. It is important that you do not arrive more than 10 minutes early for your booking as otherwise you’ll be expected to wait outside. We also ask everyone to leave promptly after bookings.  https://www.nhs.uk/apps-library/nhs-covid-19/

We may also take your temperature at reception on arrival.  Our one-way system will remain in place with all ground floor external doors continuing to serve as exits. These doors will however be closed but unalarmed with hand sanitiser available. For sports hall users please be aware that we will no longer be using the 1st floor fire escapes as normal exits. To exit the sports hall, return down the internal stairs and exit opposite squash courts.  The maximum of 6 does apply to all sports centre users. 2 per squash court at a time. For team sports and organised sessions distinct groups of 6 MUST be established with no mixing or interacting between.

https://mailchi.mp/bf1b370655a7/important-covid-19-policy-update Racket Hire: Rackets hire will be available for £1. After use please wipe down the racket and place in the racket bin by reception. Balls and shuttlecocks are still not available to hire but can be purchased from reception.   Socials: We have an updated badminton socials programme which can be seen below. These sessions have limited numbers and will require pre booking via the Playwaze app or at https://bit.ly/3hhKLho  Once you have set up an account search Wensum Sports Centre Charitable Association and click “Join”, to find all sessions that are listed and available to be booked. Due to the current restrictions on player numbers allowed per court we have increased the cost per player. This is to ensure the session running cost is recovered. Court bubbles will be in operation and shuttlecocks will be sanitised after every session.  If you are interested in playing in our league team next season you can register your interest.  Gym walk ins: We are now accepting walk in sessions for gym members. Entrance into the gym is still subject to gym capacity, i.e. you may need to wait for someone to leave. The number of gym session slots that are available are increasing, with new slots at 07:00-10:30, 11:00-14:30, 15:00-18:30, 19:00-21:30. Please check opening hours on weekends as we close at an earlier time. If you are planning to attend the gym within 1 hour of close you are still required to book in advance.   Please continue to wipe down equipment before and after use. Many thanks Wensum Sports Centre
