On the 24th of August over 60 players came to battle it out to be crowned Wensum Moderates champion in their respective divisions. The moderate’s tournament is for any player who has not represented senior county in the past 4 years.
The day started with the men’s singles draw with 21 players competing for the title. In the end there could only be one winner with Louis Davis emerging the victor against Freddie Clark 21-15, 21-6.
The ladies’ singles competition featured a smaller entry. However, provided some close and exciting battles. Isla Thorne took the title with Sarah Medler in second place- after a 3-set thriller seeing Thorne triumph 15-21, 21-19, 21-14.
After a quick break in proceedings the doubles events soon followed. The men’s final saw senior club players Josh Ford and Freddie Clark take on the junior county pair of Toby Thompson and Oscar Butler. A high-quality final saw the young guns emerge as champions winning 21-17, 21-18.
The ladies’ doubles saw defending champions Hannah Cragoe and Sarah Farquhar take on Sarah Smith and Hannah Lain in the final. In a hard-fought battle Smith and Lain took the victory 21-15.
The final event of the day saw 12 pairs compete in the mixed doubles draw. The final saw George and Faye Le Bon take on Oscar Butler and Sophia Butwright- with the dream team of George and Faye claiming victory 21-9, 21-12.

Good afternoon all,
Today we are publishing our new price list with an effective start date of 1st April 2024. This year we face numerous increases in our expenditure, so it is necessary to implement a price increase. We continue to keep our prices as low as we can whilst covering the running costs of the facility.
All courts from 1st April 2024 will be charged at the rate listed below. Our Peak/Off Peak Timetable is also listed, please note this has changed at weekends.
To help increase availability, from 1st April we will remain open until 20:00 at the weekend as a trial. This adds additional slots on Saturdays & Sundays and we hope these get used enough to make them permanent.
This past year has been very exciting for Wensum Sports Centre, our new sports hall floor being the forefront. Also, we are busier than ever before and for that we are so incredibly grateful. Your continued support has made everything we’ve achieved possible. We look forward to delivering future projects and improvements to your WSC.

On Monday 24th July we reopened our courts for public use after installing a brand new floor, get your slot booked now as we have limited availability.
Thank you for your patience during the project, we can't wait to see how much you love our new floor!
Please be aware that in order to maintain our new floor in top condition we are implementing a new shoe policy similar to that of the squash courts. This can be found below and also around the centre.
As you are all aware our sports hall floor has been in desperate need of repair for a while now. We now have exciting news and email you today to provide advanced warning of this upcoming project at Wensum Sports Centre. From 3rd July the sports hall will be closed while replacing the floor with a brand new state of the art sports hall performance surface.
Unfortunately we don't yet have a completion date but expect to reopen upstairs on Monday 24th July at the latest. Closer to the time and as the project progresses we will keep you informed.
The centre will remain open as normal aside from the sportshall so we encourage you to try out some of our other activities.
We hope you are as excited as we are!
If you can spare 5 minutes to provide us with some feedback we would be very grateful.
This feedback form also presents an opportunity to vote for the most suitable booking release time.
